It is my pleasure
to introduce you to Edgware Masorti Synagogue and its
many activities through the pages of this website.
Founded in 1984
by 10 families, our stunning synagogue and community
centre was opened 1996.
We seek to approach Judaism
in accordance with Halachah in a non-dogmatic way, combining
traditional Judaism with a modern understanding of religious
thought and practice.

We have created a synagogue
where Jewish observance and worship are conducted in an inclusive,
tolerant and open environment. All are welcome to participate
and we are proud of the warmth of our services and our educational,
cultural and social events.
Our services are davened in the traditional
way, using the Singers Prayer Book and members are encouraged
to lead services, leyn from the Torah and participate. We
have mixed seating and both men and women are counted in the
minyan, called to the Torah, leyn and read Haftarah. Women
do not lead services or wear kippot or tallitot.
Through our services and activities,
our excellent Cheder and adult study programme, our social
and study events, our commitment to care for, and about, each
other and our links with the other Masorti Synagogues, we
try to reach out to all Jews, whatever their level of Jewish
observance or interests. We are a caring community and would
be delighted to welcome you to our synagogue family.
For further information please do
not hesitate to contact me, our Administrator or one of our
Honorary Officers at the Synagogue.
