Services are held in our synagogue
at 6.30pm every Friday evening and at 9.15 am every Shabbat
morning (the Torah service begins at approx. 10.15am);
at 7.00am on Thursday mornings and Rosh Hodesh; and of
course on festivals and High Holydays. Childrens
services are held every Shabbat for all ages, at 10.45am.
-
Our friendly Cheder and education
programme for 11-16s meets from 9.45am-12.30pm on Sunday
mornings, with special classes for Bar/Bat Mitzvah students
from 4.30pm-6.30pm on Tuesdays.
-
Our young people participate in
Noam the Masorti Youth Movement and the 8-11 year
olds meet at the Synagogue on a Tuesday whilst the teenagers
from all over the movement meet on Sundays.
-
Adult Education programmes and
regular shiurim are held throughout the year, as are discussion
groups and cultural events. Our library is available for
all members to use.
-
Social events are held throughout
the year for every age group and covering most interests
and our Bridge Club meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
-
From womb to tomb. We are pleased
to celebrate life cycle events at EMS: blessings for babies
and new parents, Bnei Mitzvah, marriages, anniversaries
and other special occasions are all part of shul life.
All members of the synagogue belong to the Jewish Joint
Burial Society with its cemetery at Cheshunt. Our welfare
volunteers are ready to befriend members who are lonely
or in need and we provide support for the bereaved.
All these and our many other activities
are supported by an elected council and many volunteers, by
our regular magazine, Or Hadash and by our weekly email newsletter.
We welcome you to our services and
any of our activities without commitment, just telephone the
Shul office to arrange a visit.
Rabbi Dr Jeremy Collick
