On behalf of the Security
Management Team, welcome to Edgware Masorti Synagogue.
We would love to operate
an "open door" policy, but this is not possible
at the moment for reasons that are, tragically, all too obvious.
To ensure the safety
of staff, members and visitors, there is always a security
team on duty. Anyone attending the building is questioned
as a matter of course before being admitted and all bags are
subject to routine search.
We hope you won't be
put off by these necessary precautions; that is not the object
of the exercise. Our aim is for those in the Shul to know
that they are quite safe. So we would ask you please not to
be offended when you are stopped, questioned or searched.
There is a large security rota and you may not be recognised
on every visit if the team is different from one you have
previously met.
All members of the
team are fully trained in all aspects of security and we work
closely with the Metropolitan Police, Edgware SNT and the
CST, both of whom can provide immediate assistance if requested.
We also co-opearte closely with other shuls in our locality
and we all provide mutual assitance when required.
If you would like to be trained to
assist with security, if only on the High Holy Days, please
contact the Security Management Team via the Shul office on
020-8905 4096.
We acknowledge the web site of Jackson
Row Shul, Manchester, which forms the inspiration and basis
of this page.
